This dramatic
rock outcropping overlooking Paint Creek is one of many which appear on a 4
mile section, referred to by locals as the Mini-Gorge. These formations
came about as the constant and relentless force of Paint Creek cut through
the many layers of rock over thousands of years.
Beginning
north of Lively, this series of overhanging rock and sheer cliffs are
surrounded on all sides by rhododendron, evergreens, and deciduous trees.
Access to this section of cliffs and scenic views would be by way of the
proposed community park and camping facilities at Lively
