This historic rail corridor passes through communities which played a major role in the export of Paint Creek’s most valuable mineral resource, coal. By using the wealth of historic stories and the abundance of recreational opportunities along Paint Creek visitors are brought into contact with these community resources and provide people with choices and alternative methods of transportation.

This rail-trail corridor closely parallels Paint Creek, paved county roads, and the West Virginia Turnpike.
